USCIS: certain expired TPS Ukraine work permits are valid through October 19, 2026
USCIS is sending notices that extend expired TPS-based work permits in categories A12 and C19. The same update says the TPS designation of Ukraine is set to terminate on October 19, 2026.
In updates released on August 14 and September 3, 2026, USCIS stated that the Temporary Protected Status designation of Ukraine and related benefits are set to terminate on October 19, 2026.
USCIS is sending notices to people who received a TPS-based Employment Authorization Document in category A12 or C19 during the recent re-registration period and whose card expires before October 19, 2026. The notices extend those cards through October 19, 2026.
For Form I-9, employers accept the card together with the USCIS notice and enter October 19, 2026 as the expiration date. USCIS asks employers and beneficiaries to check its TPS Ukraine page for updates.
