What is special about it

What gets checked in a Ukrainian military ID: names, dates, stamps

The booklet records the rank, the specialty, the service and reserve entries and the stamps of the territorial recruitment center, which older pages still call the military commissariat. The translation keeps the office name as printed on each page.

Ukrainian or Russian pages

Older entries may be in Russian and newer ones in Ukrainian, sometimes in the same booklet; each page is translated from its own language and the file says so.

Service and reserve entries

Units, positions, dates and the reserve category are translated with numbers as printed.

Recruitment center stamps

Registration and deregistration stamps are translated with dates in the US format and the office named as on the stamp.

Spelling as in your passport

The name is transliterated to match your Ukrainian passport, patronymic included.

Which version do you have

Paper booklet or Reserve+ printout, which do you hold

Ukraine still issues the paper military ID booklet, and since 2024 the same registration data can be shown as an electronic military registration document from the Reserve+ app. We translate either, or both together.

Paper military ID booklet

Soviet or Ukrainian form
  • A booklet in Ukrainian, or an older Soviet one in Russian, with a photo and recruitment center stamps
  • Personal data, rank, specialty, service and reserve entries, fitness category and registration stamps
  • Every page with an entry or stamp is translated from its own language; blank pages are listed
  • Asked for by USCIS and consular officers as the record of service or reserve status

Send photos of all pages in order, including the cover and blank pages.

Electronic document from Reserve+

Newest, from the app
  • A one-page PDF or screen with a QR code, generated from the state military register
  • Name, date of birth, registration status, the recruitment center and the date of the last update
  • All fields and the QR verification note are translated; the file says the original is electronic
  • Asked for as current proof of registration when the booklet is old or its entries have stopped

Export the PDF from the app rather than photographing the screen.

The whole document, not just the fields

Every page of the booklet, in either language

Page numbers and headings

Each translated page keeps the booklet's page number and section heading, so the reader can find the same place in the original.

Handwritten entries

Entries are usually handwritten and sometimes corrected; each is translated as written and corrections are described.

Series, number and order references

The booklet's series and number, order numbers and unit numbers are copied exactly.

Dates in the US format

Registration, enlistment and discharge dates are converted to month-day-year and kept in the order of the original.

Where it is accepted

One translation, accepted where you need to file

The same certified file works for immigration, courts, universities and employers. Say who it is for when you order and the certificate is worded for that office.

USCIS

Green card, citizenship and asylum filings. Certification statement on every page set.

Immigration courts

Same certified translation, laid out page by page so the clerk can compare it with the original.

Universities and WES / ECE

Admissions offices and credential evaluators get the certified English file with the original attached.

Employers and licensing boards

HR departments get the translation with the certificate, ready to attach to an application.

Questions answered

Ukrainian military ID, the questions we hear most

I have a temporary certificate instead of a booklet. Do you translate it?

Yes. The temporary certificate of a person liable for military service and the registration certificate are both translated in full.

My booklet is Soviet and in Russian. Is that still fine?

Yes. The source language is noted in the file, and the layout is the same Soviet form used across the republics.

Which pages count?

Pages with any entry or stamp. Blank pages are listed as blank and not charged; the count is shown before you pay.

Will USCIS accept this translation?

It follows what USCIS asks for: the whole document in English plus a signed statement that the translator is competent and the translation is complete and accurate. Every order includes that statement, signed and dated by the translator.

How much does it cost and how fast is it?

From $23.70 per document, certification included. A booklet with four filled pages is a short document, usually the minimum; the price is shown right after upload and the date is confirmed before you pay.
