What is special about it

Ukrainian police clearance, line by line: what the reviewer compares

The extract states the full name, date of birth, the finding and the date, with a QR code and an officer's signature block on electronic versions. Apostilles on police certificates are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not the Ministry of Justice.

The finding as printed

The standard phrase about no record, or the record described, is translated exactly.

Ukrainian spelling first

The name is transliterated from the Ukrainian text to match your passport, with a note when the extract also shows a Russian-based spelling from older records.

QR codes and signatures

The QR verification note, the officer's signature block and the stamp are translated or described.

Apostille from the MFA

The apostille page, when present, is translated on the same order.

Which version do you have

Paper extract from the MVS or a Diia PDF, both count

Ukraine issues the certificate of no criminal record as a paper extract from an MVS service center or as an electronic extract ordered through Diia. Each is translated in full, apostille included when you have one.

Paper extract from an MVS service center

Stamp and signature
  • A printed form with the MVS stamp, an officer's signature and a registration number
  • Full name in Ukrainian, date of birth, the finding and the issue date
  • All fields, the stamp, the signature and the apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are translated
  • Asked for by US consulates, foreign employers and licensing boards

Send photos of the front, the back and the apostille page if there is one.

Electronic extract from Diia

Most common today
  • A PDF with a QR code, a document number and the officer's electronic signature block
  • The same finding and personal data as the paper form
  • Text, QR verification note and signature block are translated, with a note that the original is electronic
  • Used in USCIS filings and by employers who accept electronic originals; check with your office first

Send the PDF saved from Diia, not a screenshot, so the QR code and number stay sharp.

The whole document, not just the fields

The whole extract, front, back and apostille

Header, number and layout

The MVS header, the extract number and the issue line are translated in place, mirroring the original so the reader can find each line.

Handwritten marks

Any handwritten date, note or check mark added by the officer is translated and marked as handwritten.

One spelling across your file

The spelling used here is carried into every other document we translate for you, so the officer sees one person.

Dates converted, originals kept

The issue date and the date of birth are converted to month-day-year, and the original values stay visible for comparison.

Where it is accepted

One translation, accepted where you need to file

The same certified file works for immigration, courts, universities and employers. Say who it is for when you order and the certificate is worded for that office.

USCIS

Green card, citizenship and asylum filings. Certification statement on every page set.

Immigration courts

Same certified translation, laid out page by page so the clerk can compare it with the original.

Universities and WES / ECE

Admissions offices and credential evaluators get the certified English file with the original attached.

Employers and licensing boards

HR departments get the translation with the certificate, ready to attach to an application.

Questions answered

Ukrainian police clearance, the questions we hear most

I ordered the extract through Diia. Is a translation of the PDF enough?

We translate the electronic extract in full, including the QR note and signature block, and mark the original as electronic. Whether an office accepts electronic originals is its own rule.

How long is the certificate valid?

The certificate itself usually has no expiry date; each office applies its own rule, often measured in months from the issue date. Check the rule of the office you are filing with before ordering the certificate.

Do I need an apostille for USCIS?

USCIS asks for a certified translation, not an apostille. Consular processing often requires one, and in Ukraine it comes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Will USCIS accept this translation?

It follows what USCIS asks for: the whole document in English plus a signed statement that the translator is competent and the translation is complete and accurate. Every order includes that statement, signed and dated by the translator.

How much does it cost and how fast is it?

From $23.70 per document, certification included. A one-page document is usually ready the next business day; the date is confirmed before you pay.
