Ukrainian passport translation, certified for USCIS

Biometric passports issued since 2015 and the older booklets both carry a bilingual data page and pages of stamps in Ukrainian and other languages. We translate the pages with entries, keep your name as the passport spells it, and sign the certificate of accuracy.

What is special about it

Inside a Ukrainian foreign passport: the details that decide it

Ukrainian citizens often hold two valid foreign passports, and older booklets may include a child entered on a parent's page. The translation records every entry and which passport it came from.

Ukrainian transliteration as printed

The Latin spelling on the data page follows the Ukrainian standard, and that is the spelling we keep for you across all documents.

Stamps, visas and consular notes

Border stamps, visas and stickers of any country and consular notes are translated, with dates converted to the US format.

Children in older passports

Passports issued before the biometric series may list children with photos on inside pages. Those entries are translated because they tie to birth certificates.

Only filled pages counted

Blank pages are listed as blank and not charged; the count of pages with entries is shown before you pay.

Which version do you have

Biometric passport or older booklet, the data page tells you

Passports issued since 2015 are biometric with a plastic data page; older booklets have a laminated paper page and sometimes a child entered inside. Many clients hold one of each.

Biometric passport since 2015

Most common today
  • A booklet with a thick plastic data page, a chip symbol and a laser-engraved photo, issued by the State Migration Service or a consulate
  • Name in Ukrainian and Latin letters by the Ukrainian standard, date and place of birth, number, record number, issue and expiry dates, the issuing authority code
  • The data page and every page with a stamp, visa or note; the chip page is described, and blank pages are listed as blank
  • Asked for by USCIS, consulates, employers, banks and the DMV whenever identity or travel history is checked

Send every page, blank ones included, as one set of flat photos; if you hold two valid passports, send both.

Older booklet before 2015

Laminated data page
  • A booklet with a laminated paper data page, a glued photo and a page where a child could be entered with a photo and a stamp
  • The same data fields, sometimes with a different Latin spelling of the name, plus the child entry and notes by the issuing office
  • The data page, the children's page when filled and every page with a stamp, visa or note; blank pages listed as blank
  • Asked for to show earlier travel, a maiden name or a child's entry, often alongside the biometric one

Send every page even if the passport has expired; the translation states which passport each page belongs to.

The whole document, not just the fields

Every page with ink on it, in the same order

Issuing authority and record number

The authority code and the record number in the demographic register are copied as printed and explained, so the reviewer knows what each number is.

Page numbers and blank pages

Each translated page is labeled with its number in the passport, and blank pages are listed by number, so nothing looks skipped.

Visa stickers, field by field

Visas of any country are translated with their type, validity, number of entries and issuing post, plus any annotation written over the sticker.

Cancelled and corrected entries

A cancelled visa, a crossed-out stamp or a correction stamped by an authority is translated and marked as cancelled, so the record reads as the original does.

Where it is accepted

Questions answered

Ukrainian passport, the questions we hear most

Is my Ukrainian ID card the same document?

No. The plastic ID card replaced the internal passport booklet and has its own page on this site. This page covers the foreign passport used for travel.

My passport spells my name differently from my spouse's. Whose spelling do you use?

Each person keeps the spelling of their own passport, in every document. When two family members are in the same order, we apply each spelling to the right person.

Will USCIS accept this translation?

It follows what USCIS asks for: the whole document in English plus a signed statement that the translator is competent and the translation is complete and accurate. Every order includes that statement, signed and dated by the translator.

I have two Ukrainian passports. Do I translate both?

If an office asked for your passport, send both and we translate the pages with entries in each; the translation states which passport each page belongs to.

How much does it cost and how fast is it?

From $23.70 per document, certification included. A one-page document is usually ready the next business day; the date is confirmed before you pay.
