School certificate translation, certified for colleges and WES

The secondary school certificate and its grade sheet are the first thing a college, a community college or an evaluator asks for. Both are translated with the subjects and grades exactly as printed, and a signed certificate of accuracy.

What matters in this document

The certificate and the grade sheet travel together

The certificate itself is one page with the name, school and year. The grade sheet is a separate page listing subjects and final marks, and that is the one evaluators read closely. Send both.

Nine years or eleven

Certificates for basic secondary education and for complete secondary education are different documents, and the translation names the level exactly as the certificate does.

Subjects and grades as printed

Subject names are translated literally and grades are copied on the original scale, which is stated once at the top. No conversion to letters or a GPA.

Medal and honors

A gold or silver medal, a certificate with distinction or a red-form certificate is translated, because admissions offices ask about it.

School seal and number

The certificate number, the school's full name and the seal are translated or described.

Which version do you have

Finished school or still in school, two different papers

A school leaver holds the certificate with its grade sheet, while a student transferring mid-school holds a report card or an extract of grades instead. Both are translated, and the difference matters to the school that reads them.

School certificate with grade sheet

Grade 9 or 11
  • A hard-cover folder with an insert, or a single printed sheet, plus a separate grade sheet; older forms carry the grades on the back
  • The graduate's name, the school's full name, the year, the level completed, the certificate number, and the subjects with final grades
  • Both pages in full: the form text, the level as printed, every subject and grade, the seal, the director's signature and any medal or distinction line
  • Asked for by colleges, universities, WES and other evaluators, and by USCIS in some student and family cases

Send the certificate and the grade sheet as separate flat photos, both sides of each.

Report card or extract of grades

Transfer before graduation
  • A student's report card (tabel) for completed grades, or an extract of grades issued by the school on letterhead with a stamp
  • The subjects and grades for each completed year or semester, the grade the student is in, the school's name and the date
  • Every page in full, with subjects literal and grades on the original scale, the stamp and the signature
  • Asked for by US schools placing a transferring student in the right grade

Send every page of the report card or the extract; if the school issued a separate letter, send it too.

The whole document, not just the fields

Certificate, grade sheet and seal, all of it in English

Form text and certificate number

The pre-printed wording of the form, the coat of arms and the certificate number are copied or described, so the English page identifies the same document.

Subject names, literal

Subjects are translated word for word, so a course called foundations of health or native literature keeps its name and the reader can compare it with the original list.

Year of graduation and issue date

The year the course was completed and the date the certificate was issued are converted to the US format with the original kept, so a later duplicate does not read as a later graduation.

Grade sheet stamps and back sides

The grade sheet carries its own number, seal and signature, and older forms have grades on the back. Every side with text is translated and blank sides are recorded as blank.

Where it is accepted

One translation, accepted where you need to file

The same certified file works for immigration, courts, universities and employers. Say who it is for when you order and the certificate is worded for that office.

USCIS

Green card, citizenship and asylum filings. Certification statement on every page set.

Immigration courts

Same certified translation, laid out page by page so the clerk can compare it with the original.

Universities and WES / ECE

Admissions offices and credential evaluators get the certified English file with the original attached.

Employers and licensing boards

HR departments get the translation with the certificate, ready to attach to an application.

Questions answered

School certificate translation, the questions we hear most

Do colleges accept this translation?

The translation is certified and literal, which is the format colleges and evaluators ask for. Some also want the school to send records directly; that is separate from the translation.

Is the grade sheet a separate page?

Yes. The certificate is one page and the grade sheet is another; each is priced as a page, and the count is shown before you pay.

Do you convert the grades?

No. Grades stay on the original scale with the scale stated once. Conversion is the school's or evaluator's step.

I only have the certificate and lost the grade sheet. Can you still translate?

Yes, the certificate alone is a complete document. The evaluator may still ask for the grade sheet, and a duplicate can be requested from the school.

How much does it cost and how fast is it?

From $23.70 per document, certification included. A one-page document is usually ready the next business day; the date is confirmed before you pay.
